A Celebration of Life for Sherrill Virginia Odum (Farlander), will be held on Saturday, April 7, noon, at Lone Pine VFW Post 8036. Sherrill crossed over peacefully, surrounded by the love of family and friends, in Reno, NV on March 8, 2018.

Born Sherrill Virginia Odum on July 27, 1951 in La Puente, Sherrill moved to Lone Pine as a young girl along with her mother, Patricia Farlander, and four siblings. Over the years, Sherrill has lived in San Marcos, Redding, Isla Vista, Bullhead City, AZ, and Ridgecrest, finally returning to the Owens Valley in 2009 when she moved to Big Pine and later to Bishop, to live with her daughter, where she has resided since.

Words do not exist to describe the humor, joy, and love that Sherrill brought to the
world of all those who knew her, especially her children and grandchildren, whom she loved unendingly, and who will move forward with broken hearts full of the love and strength that she has instilled in them.

Sherrill is survived by her sister Shelly (Danny) McMurry of Bishop, her brothers Dave (Cherie) Odum of Punta Gorda, FL, Doug Odum of San Diego, Darrell (Janis) Odum of Independence, daughter Joanie Hanson of Bishop, sons Raymond (Peggy)
Zeigler of Redlands, Ryan (Brooklynn) Zeigler of Sparks, NV, son-in-law Larry Seymour of La Pine, OR, grandchildren Dugan and David Seymour and Alex, Ashlyn, Asher, and Adalynn Zeigler, nieces Chelsea Owens, Amber Odum, Jennifer Odum, Stephanie Odum-Brush, Robin Ludovico, nephews James McMurry, Doug Odum Jr., Travis, Jed, and Drake Odum, many great nieces and nephews and countless life-long friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Farlander and her nephews Joshua and Marshall (Mo) McMurry.

Please come out to celebrate Sherrill’s life on April 7th . Following a short memorial, we will celebrate with food and music, which were two of her favorite things. Everyone is welcome.

Memorial donations may be made to: Inyo Mono Advocates for Community Action Food Bank in Bishop, CA.
