On June 25, Sheriff Stephanie J. Rennie was awarded the prestigious CA POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Executive Certificate. This honor is reserved for full-time peace officers who meet the highest standards of professional achievement—an accomplishment reached by fewer than 1% of California peace officers.
The certificate was presented by Matthew O’Deane, POST Consultant for the Training, Delivery, and Compliance Bureau, representing Region 7. Sheriff Rennie’s dedication to her team and the Inyo County community is evident in her constant drive and ambitious leadership.
In attendance to celebrate this special occasion were First District Supervisor Trina Orrill, Third District Supervisor Scott Marcellin, and Fifth District Supervisor Will Wadelton.

Helping celebrate Sheriff Rennie’s rare achievement on Wednesday were (l-r) Lt. Shane Scott, District 5 Supervisor Will Wadelton, Matthew O’Deane from POST, District 1 Supervisor Trina Orrill, Undersheriff Juan Martinez, and Lt. Mike Atkins.
