Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil to Award 2026 Mariposa County

Women of Distinction Honor to Amanda Brum

Sacramento, CA – Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (R–Jackson) will award the 2026 Mariposa County Women of Distinction Honor to Amanda Brum, a U.S. Army veteran and dedicated public servant via Zoom at the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, April 7 at 9am.

Amanda Brum currently serves as Division Director of Administrative Services for Mariposa County Health and Human Services. A former Military Intelligence Training Interrogator, she brings lived experience as a veteran to her work supporting military personnel and veterans experiencing homelessness. Under her leadership, Mariposa County was among the first jurisdictions to secure Encampment Resolution Funding, with veterans explicitly prioritized for assistance.

She played a key role in implementing a “Voice and Choice” approach to encampment engagement, emphasizing dignity, trust, and resident-led decision-making, and has strengthened collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs to connect veterans to housing, benefits, and healthcare.

“Each of the Women of Distinction represent the very best of our communities,” said Senator Alvarado-Gil. “Through their leadership, compassion, and commitment to serving others, they have made a lasting difference in the lives of those around them. I am proud to recognize Amanda Brum’s extraordinary service to veterans and our entire District 4 community.”

The Women of Distinction program recognizes individuals nominated by their peers and community members for exceptional service, professional achievement, and dedication to improving the lives of others. Senator Alvarado-Gil will continue the series with honorees from each county in Senate District 4 throughout the Spring of 2026.

Senator Alvarado-Gil represents the 4th Senate District including the Counties of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne.
