Russell L. Covington
Born April 1962 – May 20, 2024
Russell was born in Tulare, CA. The family moved to Bishop in 1970 and Russell has been here ever since. He attended Bishop Elementary Schools and graduated from Bishop Union High School in the class of 1979. He had many passions, among his favorite was fishing. Russell’s work history started with restaurants, Union Carbide, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Then in the year 2000 he joined the Laborers Union International Union of North America Local #783. HOD Carriers and building labors. He worked HWY 395 from Topaz Lake to Pearsonville, Owens Dry Lake and Death Valley Junction being a laborer and flagman. His last and current employment was at the Wanaaha Casino where he worked in the restaurant and EVS.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents Mel and Lora Covington, nephew Robert M. Covington, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Russell is survived by his wife Balery Covington, his brother Robert Covington and his wife Lacy. Brother-in-law and sister Ed and Teri Merchant along with brothers-in-law Nolan Barr and Driscoll Barr.
