Long time Mono City resident Virginia Morgan passed away on May 29th.  For the last 11 years Virginia has lived in Fallon, Nevada.  Virginia was born in 1924 in Erie, PA.  During World War II she worked in a munitions factory producing bomb parts for the war effort.   

She later moved to Lone Pine, California where she met and married her husband of forty years, Babe Morgan.  They lived in Old Mammoth, June Lake, and Lee Vining before moving to Mono City.  Virginia began working as a kindergarten teacher in Lee Vining before becoming the Lee Vining Elementary School Secretary.

She retired in 1987.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Babe Morgan, and son, Al Morgan.  Virginia is survived by her sister Rosemary Ciotti of Erie PA, a son Jim Morgan (Eileen) of Fallon, NV, two daughters, Rosanne Morgan of Nyack, NY and Barbara Groseth (John) of Missouri, seven grandchildren, Sara Morgan Munis (Brandon), Tim Morgan (Kelly), Sean Dobbelaer (Courtney), Charlie Voyles (Ke’Ala), Melanie Sweeney (Rob), PJ Willis (Sharon), and Ashley, nine great-grandchildren, Riley Michelle, Keith, Joshua, Brandon, Trevor, Hailey, Coleton, Kamryn, and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews. Private services have already been held.
