Regional Housing Needs Survey Closing August 15th

Eastern Sierra, CA – In a concerted effort to address regional housing challenges, the Collective Housing Committee (CHC) – comprised of Inyo County, Mono County, the City of Bishop, the Town of Mammoth Lakes, and the Eastern Sierra Council of Governments (ESCOG) – are working with consulting firm BAE Urban Economics to prepare the Eastern Sierra Housing Needs Study, which will provide information about the nature and severity of housing needs in the region to help guide future investment.

A pivotal component of this initiative is active community involvement. In addition to community workshops, where organizers will gather input and share progress with stakeholders, the CHC and the consultant are teaming up on in-the-field information-gathering. This includes conducting extensive interviews with stakeholders and administering surveys of local residents, workers, and employers. The purpose of the surveys is to gather information about resident and workforce housing needs, as well as how the housing market is impacting labor availability and business development. The survey was made available June 1st, 2025 and will be closing on August 15th, 2025. The CHC encourages all residents and employers to access the surveys below to help inform future planning and housing solutions.
