In response to the structural damage occurring to some residences in the Mammoth Lakes area, American Red Cross Los Angeles Region disaster workers have opened a shelter at the Mammoth High School (365 Sierra Park Road).
The shelter supports the immediate needs of those affected, including a safe place to stay, food, water, and access to health services, emotional support and other recovery resources. Impacted residents are welcome to stop by during the day even if they choose to spend the night elsewhere.

the complex next to mine is red tagged, it’s 10 units or so. I know of three other places that were red tagged and I’m sure there’s more. There’s a zero vacancy rate for rentals, so not sure where people are going to go.
Trouble, the emergency is that the roof line of their apartment building split in half from the snow load and their apartments are not habitable and are in danger of collapse. The people live and work in Mammoth and there are no rentals available. The building is behind Robertos. Check… Read more »

I don’t want to critique Red Cross, but knowing Mammoth, they declared a emergency so they can get another tax break. I’m working up there and I’m not seeing a state of emergency.
