Prepare for Colder Weather

The Mammoth Community Water District encourages Customers to Stay Informed and Prepare for Colder Temperatures.

Mammoth Lakes, California – As the seasons change, the Mammoth Community Water District is asking our community to take a few simple but important steps to help prevent costly damage during the winter months.

First, if you haven’t already, please ensure that the District has a current phone number and email address on file for your account in case of emergencies. You can update your contact information by calling the District office or by setting up your free Customer Portal. The Portal allows you to pay your bill online or set up personalized notifications for water use at your property. With Customer Portal Leak Alerts, you’ll know when water is running at your property, regardless of your physical location.

With cold nights just around the corner, we’d like to remind customers that now is the time to winterize. Simple actions like draining irrigation lines, shutting off outdoor faucets, and insulating exposed pipes can help avoid frozen pipes, water damage, and unnecessary water loss.

Customers can enroll in the Customer Portal, find tips on winterizing, and access additional resources on the District’s webpage, www.mcwd.dst.ca.us, or by calling 760-934-2596.

By preparing for freezing weather and keeping accounts updated customers can avoid costly damage and enjoy a worry-free winter!
