Pioneer Home Health Care Bishop COC luncheon 2 20 2020 2
At Thursday’s Bishop Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at the Bishop Pizza
Factory, Pat West, who is retiring after 30 years with Pioneer Home Health Care,
introduced her replacement, Ruby Allen, RN.

PHHC was established in 1990 by West after she moved to this area from the San
Fernando Valley in 1985, where she worked as home house nurse supervisor in
home health care. She has been a nurse for 53 years.

When West moved to the Bishop area with her family, she recognized the need
for home health care in the Bishop area and created the business. It is now a
community-based, not for profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to providing
professional services to patients in meeting their health objectives at home. It is
also the sole certified provider of the service in this area.

Pioneer believes that allowing patients to remain at home speeds recovery time
and maintains the independence and dignity of their patients and clients, as well
as improving the overall quality of their lives. Pioneer Home Health care has also
been recognized as one of the top 500 home care agencies in the United States by
Home Care Elite.

Pat is moving out of the area with her husband, Bob, to Los Osos, Calif. for a well-
deserved retirement and her replacement is Ruby Allen, RN, one of the facility’s
Nursing Care Managers.

Allen’s first nursing experience was with the City of Hope. She is married and has
four daughters and three grandbabies. She worked 12 years as a Field Clinician
and worked her way up to case manager, before becoming the director of patient
clinical services. All her service has been with Pioneer Home Health Care.

The members of the chamber of commerce gave Allen a warm welcome.
