Pesticide Safety Seminar Event to be held in Bishop on March 24
The Inyo and Mono Counties Agricultural Commissioner’s Office will host its annual Pesticide Safety Seminar on Tuesday, March 24, at the Whiskey Creek Banquet Room in Bishop. The seminar will run from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and is open to certified pesticide applicators and others who work with pesticides. Registration is required, and the cost to attend is $20 per person, which includes lunch, snacks, and drinks.
This year’s seminar will feature presentations covering a broad range of pesticide and pest-management topics. Attendees will receive updates on current regulations, mosquito control strategies, and recent changes affecting rodenticide use, as well as other relevant industry information. The event provides a convenient local opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
For those seeking license renewal, participants must bring their certification cards to receive credit. The Department has requested 2 hours of Laws & Regulations and 3.5 hours of Other continuing education from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. Certificates of completion will be issued following the seminar.
Space is limited and the department needs to establish an accurate meal count, so attendees must preregister by contacting the Agricultural Commissioner’s Office at 760-873-7860.
