The USDA Forest Service has announced that Pacific Southwest Regional Forester Randy Moore will serve as the 20th Chief of the USDA Forest Service beginning July 26.
The press release says that brings over 40 years of experience to the role.
Moore said, “I am humbled to be selected as Chief of the USDA Forest Service, and I look forward to continuing our path into the future with our employees and the citizens we serve. We have much work to do as we contribute to our nation’s most pressing challenges: tackling climate change, advancing racial equity and helping the people we serve recover and heal from the global pandemic, in part through connection with our treasured public lands.”

Hoping he an address the well and pump that was removed from the Bishop USFS visitor center. Those were taxpayer owned assets that served many in our community. It was a great place to fill up 5 gallon containers before heading out camping.
I’d like to know why they removed it and how they paid for it. Not ok to use taxpayer dollars to destroy a taxpayer owned resource.
And no, COVID is not an acceptable excuse. The odds of getting COVID from that pump were nil certainly less than the risk from pumping gas and all sorts of other things like that.
