Two separate Mono County Court cases wrapped up recently, with one man headed to prison and another deported. Both faced sex crimes.

In February, Mammoth Police arrested 32 year old Javier Prieto for statutory rape and other related crimes after a 16 year old victim came forward alleging that the sexual acts began when the victim was fifteen.

Deputy District Attorney Todd Graham reports that Prieto has been sentenced to two years and 8 months in prison.

Filimon Robles Rubio was charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. Deputy DA Graham reports that Rubio was 21 at the time when the sexual relations began with a thirteen year old girl. Graham says that probation recommended six years in prison, but the judge sentenced Rubio to time served. Rubio will also be deported, according to Graham.
