Proving that what happens in Mono County does not stay in Mono County any more than it ever has in Las Vegas, the story of the double-homicide discovered on November 9, 2020 ten miles north of Bridgeport by a snowplow operator, has an international interest. Sierra Wave reported on the arrest of three suspects on March 25, 2021, Arrests Made in Bridgeport Double Homicide.
One of the three suspects recently arrested, Orit Oged, is an Israeli citizen. The case is just now being widely reported in Israeli newspapers and media.
Today, Israel’s most widely distributed free daily newspaper, Israel Hayom (“Israel Today”), reported in an article headlined “Israeli woman arrested over alleged double homicide in US,” that “Oged, who is in her early thirties, is from the town of Ramot in northern Israel.” The newspaper also reported that “’Ramot officials issued a statement saying that at this point, these are only allegations, and we are doing what we can to help her.”
Ynet news, another Israeli news outlet, reported that “ABC7 reported that during the arrests of Spurlock and Oged (married couple), investigators discovered multiple semi-automatic handguns and rifles, ammunition and cash.” And that, “The Israeli consulate in Los Angeles said it has contacted Oged.”
It is important to note that charges are only allegations against a person. Every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
