Area Forecast Discussion: In its latest issuance, NWS Las Vegas indicated that monsoon activity will increase over the coming days, leading to scattered showers and thunderstorms, notably including the Owens Valley where wind gusts of 15–20 knots.

Potential Hazards: These storms may pose risks of strong outflow winds, heavy rainfall, and flash flooding, especially in terrain-favored areas like Owens Valley.

The forecast highlights that moisture trapped beneath an upper-level ridge will sustain storm chances through the weekend and into early next week. This includes the opportunity for locally heavy downpours and isolated flooding events as monsoon moisture continues to surge into the region.
