It seems that all summer long Sierra Wave has been warning our listeners of dangerous, even excessive heat warnings. There have been days and days of temperatures over 100ºF. And with the wildfire season now in full swing, air quality has often been poor.
Sierra Wave gets regular reports, alerts, and updates from the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nev., It is the NWS station for our local weather. Below is an example of what SWM receives on a regular basis that we thought our listeners on the radio and readers on the website might appreciate:

- Minimal changes to the forecast.
- Update at 12:57 p.m.: Excessive Heat Watch has been upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for most areas except for Esmeralda and central Nye counties as well as the Spring and Sheep Mtn ranges which will be included in a Heat Advisory.
- Both the Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory will be in effect Friday through Monday.
