I struggled with opiate and amphetamine addiction for years. Limited access to treatment, especially MAT, is by far the leading cause of OD and failure to thrive in addiction recovery from narcotics. Even when I wanted to quit and has friend and family support I couldn’t, I had to get treatment to do it safely from an inpatient program. I have been clean for almost 2 decades now. God willing, I will be for the rest of my life. I am a hard working contributor to this community now and a valued asset to its members. People can change, so can you or your kids. Get them help.
MAT works, addiction is a disease and it can be healed if the addict is ready.
Thanks,
John
I have to wonder if Dr. Anne Goshgarian has ever watched “Dopesick” it’s on Hulu. The fact is doctors and greedy big pharm started the problem. Everyone should take the time to watch the series.
That does not negate that the problem exists.
That’s another issue for another discussion. Dr. Goshgarian is a wonderful asset!
