After years of searching, the Inyo Supervisors have signed a lease agreement for a new restaurant at the Bishop Airport.

bishopairport300.jpgThe space has been empty since the popular Airport Caf shut down two years ago. The County has been looking for a new business to take over the space ever since.

The Supervisors rejected an offer to run a restaurant at the airport in November and put the request for proposals back out to the public. The supervisors signed off on the new operator on Tuesday.

County staff reports that the new operator, Weng Cheong Lim, has forty years experience in the restaurant and hotel business. He plans to open a full service restaurant with standard breakfast, a quick Thai lunch and complete Thai dinner menu.

With the board approval of the lease on Tuesday, Lim plans to open the restaurant in early April.
