Designed for the curious, as well as the serious, about writing memoir, poetry, storytelling and songwriting, the Inspired by Nature Writer’s Retreat will host a variety of creative activities and workshops from Oct. 14 through Oct. 16 in June Lake, Calif.

Join award-winning author Mindy Netiffee and iconic songwriter/storyteller Mark Turnbull, who will be leading workshops on Saturday, Oct. 15. Accomplished writer, performer, and storyteller, Mindy Netiffee, has performed and taught in over 500 colleges and venues around the U.S. and Europe.

Mark Turnbull is a playwright, Grammy Award–nominated songwriter and a Drama-Logue-winning musical director, whose one-man show, “Mark Turnbull and Friends: A One-Man Show,” was named best solo show in 1994 by the Los Angeles Times.

The talent they bring, combined with the beautiful scenery and what should be perfect timing for peak fall colors around the June Lake Loop, should have creative juice flowing for all who attend.

A meet and greet at the Heidelberg Inn in June Lake will kick things off on Friday night, and breakfast on Saturday morning at the Double Eagle Resort and Spa will fuel attendees for a fantastic day featuring the writers workshop hosted by Mindy Netiffee and a songwriter-storyteller’s circle by Mark Turnbull.

The event wraps up Sunday morning with a post-script breakfast at the locals’ favorite coffee shop Trout Town Joe.

Guests are welcome to attend one or all of the scheduled activities. Registration for the entire event, including all activities and Saturday’s meals, is only $200.

Individual event costs range anywhere from a suggested $10 donation for the salon, $20 for the songwriter’s circle, and $150 for Mindy Nettiffee’s workshop and picnic lunch only. Scholarships are also available.
