Mammoth Lakes, CA– Mountainfilm on Tour brings inspiration and education about important issues to audiences around the world. The tour will soon visit Mammoth Lakes at the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center on October 21 & 22, 2016, with documentary films that will explore the themes connected to Telluride Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.

Mountainfilm on Tour in Mammoth Lakes is hosted by the Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association partnering with U.S. Forest Service, Mammoth Lakes Recreation and Mammoth Brewing Company.

The show begins promptly at 7:00 PM, doors at 6:30 PM. A Mountainfilm presenter will introduce the films and engage the audience in discussion following the films. This tour stop in Mammoth Lakes is a benefit to support the Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association’s efforts to enhance facilities and programs at the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center and at the U.S. Forest Service auditorium.

Started in 1979, Telluride Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. Through the years, in and out of trends and fads, the festival has always been best described by one unchanging word: inspiring. Year-round and worldwide, the tour reaches over 65,000 people on six continents.

Mountainfilm on Tour shares a selection of the films from the annual festival with audiences around the globe and offers Mountainfilm for Students, a free educational outreach initiative for K-12 schools at tour locations. A tour stop at Mammoth Elementary School will take place on Friday, October 21, featuring 2 free assemblies with 45 minutes of films geared specifically for their age group.

Tickets for Mountainfilm on Tour in Mammoth Lakes are for sale at Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center, 2510 Hwy 203, or can be purchased online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2642564.

Tickets will also be available the day of the event at Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center. The cost is $20 for one night and $35 for both nights, with different films selected for each night (price includes beer sponsored by the Mammoth Brewing Company and wine sponsored by Heather Schaubmayer).
