Andy Selters has some real adventures to talk about. Selters, famed Eastern Siesrra climber, photographer and writer, will present a multimedia show as a Mammoth High School National Honors Society fundraiser Friday evening.

Selters' show, called "Tall Mountain, a Karakoram Summer" will introduce the audience to his expedition to the mountains and peoples of northeastern Pakistan last summer. Selters was part of a small team of Americans who hoped to climb K2, the world's second highest peak. Selters photographed partner Dave Watson skiing from 25,500 feet and responded to many of their acquaintances who were in serious trouble on K2.

Selters, well-known for his photography and story-telling, blends live-recorded audio with his images. The show is sponsored by the Honors Society and is a fundraiser for the Central Asia Institute, the charity that funds and builds schools in northern Pakistan and Afghanistan.

This non-profit institute was founded by Greg Mortenson, who wrote about his amazing experiences in the book, "Three Cups of Tea". His mission is to promote and provide community-based education and literacy programs, especially for girls, in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He has built 78 schools so far and sees this route as the way to bring peace to these countries.

The show takes place Friday at Mammoth High School Multi Purpose Room at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door and $5 for Mammoth students.

The show will take place in Bishop next weekend.
