Mono County is currently vaccinating eligible individuals in Phase 1B – Tier 1 of the State’s COVID-19 (Coronavirus) vaccine prioritization framework.

This phase includes individuals 65 years or older, and people in the following employment categories:

Healthcare
Emergency Services (police, fire, Search and Rescue, county and town public works/parks maintenance staff, MMSA/June Mountain Ski Patrol)
Education and Child Care (Must be a California Licensed Child Care Provider)
Food and agriculture (grocery store, restaurant and agriculture workers, as well as individuals involved in distribution)

In addition to these categories, Mono County is now vaccinating residents aged 55 years and older with certain underlying medical conditions, including pregnant women of any age.

These individuals are at increased risk for severe illness from the virus that causes COVID-19. For a list of certain medical conditions please visit the CDC website. Some of the higher risk underlying medical conditions include:

Cancer
Chronic kidney disease
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
Down Syndrome
Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant
Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 kg/m2 or higher but < 40 kg/m2)
Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2)
Pregnancy
Sickle cell disease
Smoking
Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Individuals with any underlying medical condition (including those conditions that are NOT on the current list) should consult with their healthcare providers about personal risk factors and circumstances to determine whether extra precautions are warranted.

Pregnancy increases the risk of severe COVID-19 disease in women, and infection also increases the risk of some adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as preterm delivery. The mRNA vaccines currently available are believed to be safe in pregnancy, but have not been adequately studied in people (animal studies to date have not demonstrated any likely safety concerns). Pregnant women should consult their healthcare providers to discuss benefits and unknowns around COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy.

Eligible individuals are requested to complete the online Vaccine Questionnaire and to select the appropriate category from the underlying health conditions and/or disability question.

Once clinics are scheduled for your category, you will receive an invitation at the appointed time to register for your first and second vaccination clinic. The invitation will come from [email protected]. Please do not arrive at any clinic unless you have an appointment.

Please be prepared to show proof of Mono County residence or employment at the vaccination clinic.

This includes, but is not limited to, a driver’s license/Real ID, employment paystub, a note from employer, employee ID, or any document that verifies you as a Mono County, full-time resident, regardless of immigration status (second homeowners are not eligible to receive the vaccine in Mono County). A note from your healthcare provider describing an individual’s underlying medical condition is preferred, but not required.
