Mono Basin National Forest Scenic Area celebrates 40 year anniversary this Sunday, June 16
Lee Vining, Calif., June 10, 2024— Join Inyo National Forest, Mono County Library, California State Parks, Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association, Mono Lake Kootzaduka’a Tribe and the Mono Lake Committee in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Mono Basin National Forest Scenic Area!
“Not only will we be hosting something special for the summer solstice with live music, but we will also be debuting our new visitor center movie, Mono Lake: A Legacy of Hope,” said Mono Lake District Ranger Stephanie Heller.
“This partner film has been a long time coming, and we are thrilled to be able to play it now in our theater for years to come as we welcome all who visit us.”
The free event will be held at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center at 1 Visitor Center Dr, just north of Lee Vining, California.

- 4:30 – 4:35 p.m. Mono Lake Kootzaduka’a land acknowledgment (tentative)
- 4:35 – 5:00 p.m. Debut of the new Mono Lake film
- 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Clinton Davis String Band concert
