UPDATE 11:36 AM One patroller sustained serious injuries and is being transported out of the area for further care, the second patroller is being evaluated with possible broken bones.

We have confirmed with Mammoth Mountain that earlier today, Friday, December 26, during avalanche mitigation work, two ski patrollers were caught in an avalanche. Both have been transported to Mammoth Hospital.
We will keep you informed as more information becomes available. Please stay to the facts and not create rumors. Pray for those involved.

At approximately 7:30am (prior to Ski Area operations) on Friday, December 26, Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol was performing avalanche mitigation work when an avalanche occurred on Lincoln Mountain. Two Patrollers were caught in the slide and sustained injuries. They were immediately transported to Mammoth Hospital for care.
