Sierra Wave occasionally posts the public activity logs for our local police and sheriff agencies. Today we posted the activity log for the Mammoth Lakes Police Department.
The reason is simple: Sometimes the logs are quite entertaining and informative, and it gives a snapshot of what our peace officers are doing to serve the community they serve every day.
Police work is not all “cops and robbers.” Sometimes it’s a welfare check on your elderly parent who is not answering their phone, or helping someone move their disabled vehicle out of the roadway and out of harms way. Sometimes the call for the police is to answer the question: Why is there a guy riding a bicycle outside my house on the street not wearing any clothes? The calls range from the silly or sublime to ridiculous; and can quickly change from a simple safe day to an extremely dangerous one.

The “Sheet” has got the guts to print the BS that’s going on at MLPD. Why does the Sierra Wave ignore it ? This is the type of story Bennett would have been all over . You guys are spineless .
We invertebrates here at Sierra Wave appreciate your concern.
Throwing a veteran police officer under the bus for doing something he was ordered to do by his boss is a real chicken sh*t move by the MLPD . What a REAL class act.
