Ski. Eat. Sleep

A few seats at the table are still available for TOMORROW’S Power Lunch: Getting a Good Night’s Sleep — A “Mammoth” Issue at Parallax. Hosted by Mammoth Hospital, Dr. Steve Kirtland will unpack what “normal” sleep looks like, why mountain living can throw it off, and how to get better sleep. It’s also St. Patrick’s Day, so wearing green is optional but encouraged.

Start the morning on the slopes with the optional Chamber Ski Power Hour Plus. Two meet-up times at Chair 3. Ski or ride with fellow members, then head to Parallax for lunch and the presentation. Come for skiing and lunch, or just the Power Lunch — either way, please register to save your seat.  >>> Click here to register

Promoted ≠ Prepared

Someone is great at their job, then suddenly they’re leading former coworkers, running meetings, and giving feedback without ever being shown how. And learning those skills through trial and error can get costly. That’s exactly the gap the Chamber is stepping in to address.

This spring, the Chamber launches Leadership: The Making of a Manager — Mammoth Edition, a three-part course designed to help new and emerging managers handle real work-type situations. Open to anyone, with partially subsidized pricing for Chamber members. >>> Click here for more info and to register

Spring Break Waves

Spring break season is underway across Southern California, and another group of schools and universities are out this week. Districts including Buena Park, Burbank, Garden Grove, and Fullerton, along with colleges such as USC, Pomona, Pitzer, and CSU Northridge, are on break and traveling. Another wave follows next week, with the largest overlap expected the week of March 28, when LAUSD and several large universities begin their break. For local businesses, it can be helpful to keep an eye on these travel patterns. >>> Click here to take a look at the full Spring Break schedule PDF

Tariffs, Oil Prices & Small Business

Tariffs and oil prices usually mean one thing for small businesses: higher costs. But what’s actually driving those changes right now? The next free Webinar Wednesday, hosted by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) on March 18 from noon–1pm, takes a closer look. Economist Dr. Mark Evans will provide an economic update covering tariff impacts on small businesses, steps to maximize potential tariff refunds, and likely oil price and macroeconomic outcomes tied to several Iran scenarios. >>> Click here to register
