To the Editor,
My father and I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to members of the Bishop community for their remarkable kindness and professionalism during a recent visit. When we arrived at the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport and it became clear he would need a wheelchair for the duration of our stay, several caring individuals went far above and beyond to help us.
Joe from the Bishop Chamber of Commerce and Ashley from the Eastern Sierra Regional Airport both showed extraordinary determination and compassion in helping us locate a wheelchair. Their quick thinking and persistence led us to Glenn at Air-Way Medical, a local durable medical equipment company, who generously opened his store outside of normal business hours so we could obtain what we needed. Then Joe strategized and drew upon community connections to ensure the wheelchair was delivered to our Lone Pine address.
Thanks to their combined efforts, our trip was not only manageable but deeply heartwarming—a reminder of the genuine hospitality that defines Bishop and the Eastern Sierra. Visitors like us will not soon forget the caring spirit we encountered in your community.
Sincerely,
Catherine E. Brown
