James W Allen(Jim8mm)

Jim was born on June 29, 1939 in Parry Sound Ontario, Canada, at his Grandfather’s farm. He passed away on January 30, 2026 at his home. His Parents were Jessie and Routley Allen. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Leona.

He is survived by his wife Eve and sons..Patrick(Tracey) and Michael(Zoe). Also numerous nieces and nephews.

When Jim was five the family moved to Marathon,,,a small town on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It was there that he met his future wife. She was six and he was seven .Several years later in 1963 they were married.

Shortly after that they left Canada for Bishop, Ca. Jim worked at Union Carbide for five years before being employed at ES Motors.

In 1975 he opened his own shop where he specialized in automatic transmissions. He retired in 2002

For many years Jim was an officer in the Masonic lodge here in Bishop.

Jim loved the Owens Valley, especially the White Mountains. Where he hiked on a regular basis….enjoying the solitude.

Locals would often see him around town in his old military jeep… with a dog sitting beside him.

He was a kind and gentle man.
