Jack Jerry Colby was born to Jack and Hannah Colby May 26th 1942 in Compton, CA.
Jack grew up in Southern California and took a job with the Los Angeles City Fire Department as an engineer where he was employed from the 1960s to 1990s.
A gregarious man, he was bitten by the ski bug and became a full time resident of Mammoth Lakes in the mid 1980s. After retirement from LAFD, Jack saw success in local real estate as well as owning the popular bar and restaurant, Stogies. He finished his work career with a small postal courier business.
Jack lived life to the fullest spending his free time as an avid ski racer and riding his various Harley Davidsons that he owned throughout life.
Jack is survived by his niece Krystle Stewart and childhood best friend Larry Hampton. He is preceded in death by his parents and long time spouse, Sean Ann Jones.
He passed away in Carson City, NV on March 2nd, 2023 after a decade long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
A private scattering of ashes will take place Summer 2023.
