Mammoth Police report that a 22 year old woman visiting from Ireland is in stable but serious condition after being hit by and run over by a loader engaged in snow removal.

Police say that the woman was walking up Davison to snowboard out of Canyon Lodge, when she was hit from behind by the snow filled bucket of the loader which pushed her to the ground. The loader then ran over her left leg, crushing it.

Police say that the loader operator had moved to the right side of road because of an oncoming car, but didnt see the woman walking. The loader operator then saw a snowboard flying through the air off to his right. Police say that the loader operator called 911 and got out to help the woman.

The victim was taken to Mammoth Hospital and later transferred to Wahoe Medical center in Reno.
