Inyo 350

Tuesday April 6,  2021, Recycling in Inyo and Mono Counties

INYO350 is announcing their theme for celebrating and honoring Earth Day in 2021 – Earth Day Begins At Home. During the month of April they will be sharing lots of practical information to raise awareness of what you can do at home, and in your daily life, to reduce your carbon footprint and live a more sustainable lifestyle.

To kick things off INYO350 will host a special virtual presentation on Tuesday April 6 at 6:30 pm to specifically answer key questions on so many people’s minds today – what exactly can I still recycle here in the Eastern Sierra? How and where can I do it? And what does the future of recycling look like……or better yet what are the alternatives?

Kendra Knight, the Sustainability Coordinator for Waste Connections, will be making the presentation and answering all your questions. Waste Connections is the parent company for both Bishop Waste and Mammoth Disposal.  Kendra will discuss the frequent changes in recycling and where our Eastern Sierra recycling ends up.  She will also talk about ways individuals can make a difference and live a lifestyle that produces less trash and fewer ‘throw-aways.’  She promises to answer your questions and have some fun “while talking trash!”
