Inyo National Forest Announces Temporary Wildland Fire Hire for 2026

BISHOP, CA (Oct. 21, 2025) — The Inyo National Forest is hiring! We are looking for dedicated individuals to support fire operations. These positions are vital to wildfire preparedness and disaster response across federal and state agencies.

Applications are open now through October 29, 2025 on USAJobs.gov. The Inyo National Forest is looking to fill positions on the Mono Lake Ranger District (Lee Vining, CA), Mammoth Ranger District (Mammoth Lakes, CA), White Mountain Ranger District (Bishop, CA), and the Mt. Whitney Ranger District (Lone Pine, CA). When reviewing positions, please ensure you select one of the above locations.
