🌧️ Storm Related Closures

Alpine Drive. – CLOSED Closed in Aspendell due to AVALANCHE WARNING and heavy snow.

Clay Rd. – CLOSED Closed west from Hwy 127 due to flooding from the recent storm. Clay Rd. is off Hwy 127 near the Nevada border, heading north towards Armargosa Valley. The road has sustained damage and is not passable. For your safety, please use caution around road crews during repairs.

Furnace Creek Rd.– CLOSED Closed from Old Spanish Tail Rd. to Tecopa Hot Springs due to flooding. For your safety, please be cautious of road crews during this muddy clean up.

North Highway – CLOSED (Death Valley National Park) Closed from HWY 190 to Death Valley Rd due to Flooding.

Wildrose Rd – CLOSED (Death Valley National Park) Washed out, impassable with a 9-foot-deep cut; closed from Trona Wildrose Rd into Rattlesnake Gulch. No anticipated opening date currently.

Old Toll Rd – CLOSED (Panamint Springs) Closed from the HWY 190 to Ophir Rd due to flooding from storm Hilary. The road is completely gone in many areas. No anticipated opening date currently.

❄️ Seasonal Winter Closures (Reopen in Spring)

Hwy 168 above Aspendell – CLOSED Closed at the gate above Aspendell for annual winter closure.

North Lake Rd. – CLOSED Closed at the gate above Aspendell.

South Lake Rd. – CLOSED Closed at Bishop Creek lodge.

Horseshoe Meadows Rd. – CLOSED Closed at the first gate near the Lavendar Ranch.

Upper Whitney Portal Rd. – CLOSED Closed just below the switchbacks.

Onion Valley Rd.- CLOSED Closed just above 7 Pines.

Cottonwood Rd.- CLOSED Closed from the intersection Cottonwood Powerhouse Rd. (just west of HWY 395) to the end of the road. Three different culverts that carry Cottonwood Creek beneath the road were washed away during Storm Hilary. Flash flooding caused extensive damage, and the dirt road was washed out in multiple areas. No anticipated opening date currently.

Storm Hilary caused long-term damage to Cottonwood Rd., Wildrose Rd and Old Toll Rd.. These have no set reopening dates.

Winter closures (Hwy 168, North Lake, South Lake, Horseshoe Meadows, Whitney Portal, Onion Valley) are routine and expected to reopen in spring.
