The CPSP program provides an opportunity for the County of Inyo to sponsor, in the form of financial contributions, specific events or projects undertaken by local non-profit and not-for-profit organizations that enhance visitation, or otherwise provide for the cultural or recreational enrichment of the citizens of Inyo County.
The competitive pot of funding is one of three programs offered through CPSP: nearly $50,000 is awarded in various CPSP line-item grants for perennial community events such as the California High School Rodeo State Finals and the Wild Wild West Marathon, and $32,500 is distributed in line-item grants to support local fishing derbies. Outside of the CPSP, the Board of Supervisors also provides almost $25,000 in County Marketing Grants and $122,000 through the Grants-in-Support program, for a total of almost $250,000 in grant funding distributed by Inyo County each fiscal year.
