In Loving Memory of INGE MARIA BELT 1939 – 2026
Inge Maria Belt, age 86, of Bishop, California, passed away at home on March 28, 2026.
Born October 9, 1939, in Essen, Germany, to Karl and Betty Kupper. Inge moved to Canada with her then husband Manfred Braitsch for a job in mining, then in 1962 moved to Bishop CA, where he worked at the Pine Creek Mine. Her first husband passed after a tragic mining accident, she then met and married William Belt in 1970. Inge lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and a deep love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Belt in 2021, Manfred Braitsch, who passed away in 1967, her parents, in-laws Emory and Charlotte Belt, and two brothers in Germany, Fritz Kupper and Karl Kupper.
Inge is lovingly remembered by her children, Jurgen, Barry and Nicole, and their spouses, Wanda, Beverly, and Richard Eddy. She was a proud and devoted Oma (grandmother) to Travis, Richard, Kaitlyn, and Garrett Belt; and Dylan, Ryan, and Makena Rennie; and a great-grandmother to Brody Belt.
Inge had a special place in her heart for animals and found great joy in their companionship. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her caring nature, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
Graveside services at East Line Street Cemetery will be held on April 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a private family gathering to follow.
