(l-r) Dr. Michael Karch, Lynn Blanche-owner of Java Joint, and Dr. Yuri Parisky stopped for a picture during the Vons fundraising activities.

Last Friday, staff and doctors from Mammoth Hospital headed to Vons to bag groceries. Their enthusiastic change of duties was all part of a fundraiser to help low-income women of Mono County get mammograms.

Lori Ciccarelli, Mammoth Hospital Community Relations Director, said that so far, the effort has raised $9,000 and counting. She said the Healthcare Trust of Mammoth Lakes, which is Mammoth Hospital’s foundation, partnered with Vons in Mammoth to raise money for those women who can not afford mammograms.

Those who would like to use this program, should call Medical Imaging at Mammoth Hospital and speak with Christina at 760-924-4070.
