An emergency repair to old sewer lines has led to delays on the Hanby Street project in Bishop. While there is still more work to be done, officials with the City of Bishop report that the sewer work should be done soon and the original repaving project should get back on schedule.

The city council had to approve emergency funds after one of the two main sewer lines in the City of Bishop broke during the water line and re-pavement project on Hanby street. The new water lines and laterals to the homes are finished, but work on the new sewer connections is expected to continue into next week. Once the sewer work is done, the re-paving project can resume.

On the other side of town, the new sewer project on Hobson and Keough is expected to wrap up next week.

Street closures and restricted access to properties is expected to continue with these projects. City staff reports that they appreciate the patience of local residents and drivers due to the inconvenience caused by these projects.
