On Friday and Saturday the Broncos traveled to the 15th Annual Cal City Volleyball Tournament. The tournament consisted of 38 teams including Bishop’s JV squad. JV defeated Riverside Prep, lost to Paraclete and Tehachapi, and split matches with Santa Clarita Christian and Desert.

Varsity defeated Antelope Valley (25-11, 25-13), Arvin (25-14, 25-20), and Excelsior Christian (25-19, 25-16) on Friday in pool play. In Saturday’s gold bracket, the Broncos defeated University Prep (25-15, 25-18) en route to the semifinals where they faced Burroughs. The Broncos fell to Burroughs (24-26, 8-25) who went on to take first place in the tournament. Bishop brought home the 3rd place trophy after an exciting late-night victory over Tehachapi: 21-25, 25-22, and 15-10.

The Broncos will host Mammoth on Tuesday, September 17th with JV starting at 4:00.
