A tough assignment for any forest official – take over as top boss during the biggest wildfire, possibly ever. That’s what happened to Marlene Finley. She is the Interim Inyo National Forest Supervisor.

Finley took on this job in the middle of the Inyo Complex Fires. In fact, she has performed video public service ads on fire prevention that we will soon begin to air.

Finley worked with the Fire Prevention team that came to the Forest in the wake of the 35,000 acre fires.

Finley usually works as Director of Recreation, Wilderness and Heritage Resour4ces for Region 5, which includes the Inyo National Forest. She has more than 28 years of experience working for the Forest Service and Naitonal Park Service as a recreation planner, law enforcement officer and park ranger in many parts of the country. Ms. Finley will work as Acting Forest Supervisor until a permanent replacement is chosen for the retired Supervisor Jeff Bailey.
