**Fatal Traffic Collision Involving Motorcycle and Passenger Vehicle in Bishop**

 

At approximately 7:28 PM on February 8, 2025, officers from the Bishop Police Department, along with the Bishop Fire Department and Sierra Lifeflight, responded to the scene of a vehicle vs. motorcycle collision at the intersection of North Main Street and Wye Road.

 

Upon arrival, first responders located the driver of the motorcycle, a 63-year-old male from Bishop, unconscious in the roadway. He was immediately transported by Sierra Lifeflight to Northern Inyo Hospital for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

 

The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 67-year-old male from Los Angeles, was unharmed in the incident.

 

The Bishop Police Department is continuing its investigation into the cause of the collision. It is important to note that investigations into fatal crashes require time to ensure accuracy, and public speculation or scrutiny of the involved parties may detract from the ongoing investigative process. Further information regarding the collision will be released once the investigation is complete.
