Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association Announces
5 th Annual Winter Adventure Series in Mammoth Lakes

Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association (ESIA) is hosting the fifth annual Winter Adventure Series in
Mammoth Lakes, January through February 2020. The Winter Adventure Series seeks to educate,
motivate, and inspire attendees to explore the Eastern Sierra through presentations and films by
professional athletes, photographers, filmmakers, scientists, and outdoor adventurists. The series is
supported by The Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mammoth Lakes Recreation, and funding from Measure U.
This year features a diverse collection of speakers, including a Sage-grouse photographer, local
professional climbers, and exciting outdoor cinematographers. The series runs every Thursday night,
January 16 through February 20, 2020 in the U.S.F.S. Auditorium at the Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center.

– January 16 – Free Climbing Photos and Stories
Kate Rutherford, local professional climber
– January 23 – Rock Climbing: Foundation for Life
Katie Lambert, local professional climber
– January 30 – “ROTPUNKT” Film Screening
Ken Etzel and Chelsea Jolly, climbing film screening
– February 6 – “Save the Last Dance” Author Talk
Noppadol Paothong, Sage-grouse photographer
– February 13 – “La Grave 4K” Film Screening
Johnny Collinson, professional skier and mountaineer
– February 20 – “Surf the Ganges: A quest for purity amongst pollution” Film Screening
Ryan Salm, photographer, cinematographer, and photo journalist

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and event starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 (free for 18 and under) and can be
purchased at https://sierraforever.org/winter-adventure-series/. $15 admission includes one beverage
of your choice and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a door prize. Please bring your own cup or mug, or
you can purchase an $8 ESIA stainless steel mug onsite. Door prizes include trucker hats, t-shirts, ESIA
pins, and gift certificates to local businesses.
