It’s with deep sadness to announce the passing of Duane L. Amundson, a wonderful and caring husband, father, and PAPA. He lived a fulfilling 90 years of life before passing away on July 22, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family in Bishop, California. He was born on November 26, 1933 in Mitchell South Dakota. He and his beloved wife Margaret of 67 years moved to Bishop in 1958 to work and raise a family. He started a painting business known as Amundson’s Painting Service and retired at 65. He will be dearly missed and remembered.
Duane is survived by his wife Margaret, his sister Diane Anderson of Bishop, his sons Mike Amundson and his wife Julia of Naples, Florida, Rick Amundson and his wife Chrystal of Bishop, daughter Kari Rennaker and her husband Fred of Bishop, grandsons Michael Casteel and his wife Nikki of Ferndale, Washington, Brett Amundson and his wife Samantha of Bishop, granddaughters Madison Casteel of Mesa, Arizona, Mikayla Rogers and her husband Deston of Bishop, grandson Curtis Amundson and his husband Robert of Bishop, and 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Teresa Amundson of Lodi California, and two sisters Mildred Wilson and Beverly Neal.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11am at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2935 N Sierra Hwy.
Revelation 21:4, “And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more.”
