DMatt’s Weather

new year on the road

Andrew Kirk

FRI DEC 31 2021 4:18 AM PDT – HAVE A “GREAT SNOW DO IT” NEW YEAR’S WEEKEND!

SYNOPSIS:
Brisk NW winds and light snow showers today in Mammoth. We then get a break from the stormy weather, as we enter 2022, with a ridge of high pressure building over the Western US. Just in time for New Year’s Day! Along with this, a much colder continental air mass will spill into our Forecast Area over the Holiday weekend, with all areas within it well below freezing (some 15 – 20 degrees below normal in the Owens Valley). Those temperatures should moderate by the middle of next week, to about normal for early January. More updates in Monday’s forecast…DMATT
