Diaz Lake Playground Now Open

Inyo County Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that the installation and construction of a playground and volleyball court at Diaz Lake is now complete, with both features open for the public’s enjoyment.

The amenities are part of the Diaz Lake Welcoming and Beautification Project, which is funded by a $1.475 million Caltrans Clean California grant. The goal of the project is to make improvements to enhance the experience of visitors that recreate at and/or stay at Diaz Lake Campground. In addition to the now-open playground and volleyball court, planned improvements include public-facing infrastructure maintenance/upgrades, tree plantings to increase the amount of shaded gathering areas, parking lot/road maintenance, lighting for increased visibility at night, a dog park, and a bus stop.

Parks and Recreation anticipates completion of the remaining upgrades by the end of 2026.

“Happy holidays from the Inyo County Parks and Recreation team, and we hope the public goes out to enjoy the newly opened playground and volleyball court,” the department said.
