FRI SEP 29 2023 – WEEKEND REPORT
Well we’ve been talking about this for a while. A dynamic low pressure system is set to bring an end to our warm weather, with various impacts later tonight into Sunday. Expect possible bands of rain, graupel, embedded lighting and thunder, and breezy to windy conditions. Temps drop some 20° by Sunday, so it’s time to mention the “S’ word, with levels at 8,000 – 8,500 feet. As far as possible accumulations go around the area, Mammoth 1 – 3 inches, Mammoth Mtn. 3 – 6 inches, Aspendell and Whitney Portal a light coating and Tioga Pass 1 – 3 inches. Meanwhile, Bishop has a 40% chance of showers and t’storms Saturday. That low should exit Monday with dry and steadily warming temperatures through the work week…DMATT
