Cold winter-like system moves out of the region tonight. But as it does, there will be a continued threat of snow showers in the mountains and rain showers in the valleys. Speaking of rain, Independence picked up almost an inch yesterday and the Alabama Hills got 3/4 of an inch. Snow wise, Mammoth Mountain received 13 inches of the white stuff, not bad for October 5th. Mostly sunny skies will return on Friday, leading to a wonderful Fall weekend, with temps warming back up to seasonal norms.
