After a windy and wet Wednesday for Mammoth, that system exits, leaving cool air in place. Just in time for another deep storm, a SOCAL cut off low, which will tap into a low end AR (Atmospheric River). This system is rather slow moving and will trudge through our Forecast Area later today, with heavy snow over Mammoth thru Sunday. The moisture and slow movement of the storm is a perfect set-up for copious snow in the higher elevations of the Sierra. The Owens Valley is looking at the same scenario, but with lighter snow totals thru Saturday, clearing on Sunday…DMATT
DMATTS Weather Fact: Estimated snow amounts today thru Sunday; Mammoth Main 35 – 44 inches. Mammoth Summit 42 – 52 inches. Bishop 6 – 12 inches.
