Area Forecast Discussion
Owens Valley / Mammoth Lakes / Mono County / Death Valley
Dennis Mattinson / Sierra Atmospheric Forecaster
Synopsis – Fri Nov 22 2024
Warm temps during the day, then tonight expect rain in the Valleys and snow in the mountains. All from a large AR driven cyclone saging South from Norcal. Now making snowfall forecasts during warm AR events, with rising and falling snow levels is kind of crazy. None-the-less here goes, Round 1: Friday into Saturday, 11 – 17 inches at the Main Lodge and upwards of 13 – 20 inches Summit. Then Round 2: Sunday AM thru Tuesday AM, 9 – 15 inches Main Lodge and the Summit should see 18+ inches. The Owens Valley is looking at a chance of rain (maybe a little snow) Friday night into Tuesday, with up to an inch of rain possible. Stay with me for more updates Monday…DMATT
