Synopsis – FRI MAR 13 2026

Early Summer in March? Yep! Temps will soar over the weekend. Then even stronger high pressures next week, will bring temps to 20° – 25° above normal! With this unprecedented heat, records will be set, with H5 heights approaching 592 dm for this time of year. All due high pressure moving up the SOCAL Coast, then rebuilding over Central CA and NV next week. Examples of expected daytime temps by next Wednesday: Bishop 89°; Mammoth 70°; Reno 84°; Las Vegas 97°; Phoenix 102°; Death Valley 107°. Be careful out there now. This prolonged warmth will accelerate snow melt, resulting in increased river and stream flows. This will bring cold and fast moving flows…DMATT
