FRIDAY 01-JUL-2011, 6:19 AM

A ridge of high pressure will continue to expand over the area through the weekend. Temps will run about 10 degrees above normal by Sunday, with triple digits in the Owens Valley and the 80s in Mono County.  This pattern will continue through most of  next week, with only slight variances. Some relief from the heat is possible, as it still looks like a chance exists for some thunderstorm activity, as early as Sunday. This will be caused by both moisture moving in from the Desert SW and the remnants of tropical storm Arlene. This moisture could rotate under the ridge and push into Southern California early next week. Stay tuned for updates
