With a systematic gain throughout the Olympic Marathon Trials in Boston on Sunday, Mammoth Lakes own Deena Kastor moved powerfully forward to take first place.
Kastor finished in 2:29:35 which gave her the 25th USA victory and third naitonal marathon title overall. Her time was the second fastest in women's Trials history.
In fact, the top three finishers were all from California. Second place went to Magdalena Lewy Boulet and third place was gained by Blake Russell. All finished within 3 minutes of one another.
Now, it's on to Bejing.
